KNX remote maintenance & fault diagnosis

Since most buildings today are equipped with remote access after commissioning, it makes sense and is economical to make changes and adjustments remotely.

Remote access is encrypted and can be activated or deactivated at any time by the client or owner. This can be a smart home villa, a more complex detached house or any networked building.

Remote maintenance includes all the technical equipment and functions of the electrical installation: the complete KNX system, the lighting with DALI or DMX, the burglar alarm control panel, the multi-room audio system and the entire visualization. The latter now runs via touch panels of various sizes and tablets or smartphones such as iPads and iPhones.

It is also possible to carry out complex troubleshooting and analysis in existing buildings where, for example, certain functions no longer work. For example, this could be a heating control system that, in conjunction with a heat pump, is preventing the rooms from getting properly warm.

This can also be a shading control system in the form of blinds, shutters, external venetian blinds or zipscreens that does not fulfill the desired comfort functions. We can also detect remotely whether certain components are defective or whether the parameter settings are incorrect.

Remote maintenance and remote diagnostics can be used for both new-build homes and 20-year-old Smart Home villas. For the latter, it is important that remote access via VPN connection over the Internet is available.
