Automatic blind/roller shutter control makes a decisive contribution to increasing (climate) comfort in a house/building. The advantage of electric blinds is the additional option of slat control. This provides additional privacy. The shading can be controlled via the brightness measured at the KNX weather station.
2. automatic and simultaneous shading of various façades (north/west)
Most modern buildings have either floor-to-ceiling glazing or many windows, each of which is equipped with electric blinds as sun protection. To ensure that there is always plenty of glare-free (sun)light in the individual rooms, the electric blinds must be automatically controlled by the KNX weather station according to the direction of the compass.
3. automatic sun position tracking - turning the slats during the course of the day
In order to let as much (sun)light as possible into the living rooms and at the same time achieve perfect glare protection, the blind slats must be automatically rotated by the KNX weather station during the course of the day (morning sun to evening sun). Of course, the position of the sun also varies over the course of the year: The sun is much lower in December than in June, for example. It is therefore important to set up and activate the sun position tracking for the individual façades with the respective electric blinds.
This only works with a KNX weather station that has been parameterized and programmed accordingly.
